If you think True Love comes only in the form of a significant other – think again. Sorry to burst your bubble.
We are bombarded by how, what and who to love. Ok, I’m doing it also, but hear me out. There are so MANY forms of True Love, yet we continue to wear blinders as to what True Love Is.
One
Often so busy looking for the ‘right one’ we miss what’s under our nose. In fact this is the only place to start – your nose, your eyes, your body, yes even your feet. YOU. That person inside your eyes; your soul. SELF LOVE people that where it has to begin. When was the last time you said a kind word to yourself instead of ‘what an idiot’; laughed about something goofy you did. Nurtured a part of your body that is struggling? We hear it all the time via every kind of media – give yourself more credit; give yourself some more Self Love, Self Care. Are you doing it though? Knowing and doing aren’t the same. Start doing. Little steps. We all have history, some shittier than others. You have NOW. Awaken the Love that lives inside – and it IS there. Coax it out. I’m not saying it’s easy – but it’s a given and it’s yours already.
Two
True Love exists in the laughter between close friends. It lives inside a sacred trust. The ugly truths you can share. The loud silences which are comforting. A warm and squishy hug.
Three
True Love radiates from the music you listen to. The colours ever present in flowers, trees, rocks, grass, mountains, the sea and sky. It’s in that first sip of a warm cup of tea, coffee or whatever your fancy may be. It’s around you all the time. Open your senses wider – let them in.
Four
True Love is getting through parent hood. In all the primal and learned acts of caring. The family you’ve inherited. It’s animals that comfort you and allow you to cross worlds. It’s the frustrations and glory of unconditional love that knows no end.

And if you do happen to connect with a significant other to travel with on your colourful journey of life then allow it to be the dessert to a fabulous meal. Only another course to an already laden table of deliciousness from everything your life within you and this wonderful world has to offer.
